SHORT HISTORY OF SERBIAN
NATIONAL SECTION FIPRESCI
(FIPRESCI SERBIA).
The International
Federation of Film Critics (Federation Internationale de la Presse
Cinematografique) was founded in 1930 in Paris. Today,
FIPRESCI (www.fipresci.org)
is the largest and the most important association of film critics
and journalists in the world.
Serbian section is one of the
47
national sections of FIPRESCI around the world. A group of film
critics from the territory of the former Yugoslavia founded the YU
FIPRESCI in the early seventies of the last century. FIPRESCI
Serbia
members are eminent film critics and journalists. The aim of our
Association is to promote film culture and film criticism.
One
of our most important activities is The Annual FIPRESCI Serbia Film
Awards (former YU
FIPRESCI prize). They have been awarded since 1993 as the result of
the vote of members of the Serbian section FIPRESCI which is the
only professional annual film awards for the Serbian film.
In
addition to the annual awards, which are awarded in
February for the past
year, our section is traditionally participates in all domestic film
festivals throughout the year. Many of our members regularly publish
film publications in Serbian and English. As members of the FIPRESCI
Jury, members of our section participated in many prestigious film
festivals around the world. |
